Overview
Positano tumbles down a steep slope toward a pebbly beach, a stack of pastel houses and bougainvillea. It is the most photographed village on the coast, and also one of the most vertical: expect stairs, narrow lanes and a slower pace than a map suggests.

Ferries from Salerno, Amalfi and Capri in season. SITA buses along the SS163. Private transfers from Naples airport take about 90 minutes, depending on traffic.

The village is walked. Local buses and boats connect nearby beaches such as Fornillo and Arienzo.
